The fifth edition of the Business Factory Auto once again breaks the participation record, since 127 projects from 20 different countries, belonging to the five continents, have been submitted to this new call, interested in being part of the accelerator. All of them related to digital transformation and Industry 4.0.

Nearly 50% of the projects presented originate from companies or knowledge centers, so the BFA continues to be a benchmark for promoting intrapreneurship.

Of all the projects, up to 20 will be selected that best respond to the challenges proposed by the Galician Automotive Sector, transferred to the BFA by different companies of the Cluster. The projects that have to do with these themes will have a better chance of being part of the accelerator. As a novelty, for this fifth call, all those projects aimed at strengthening the Galician Automotive Sector in the face of emergency situations derived from pandemics such as Covid-19 will be positively valued.

The BFA not only supports projects that have to do with the product part (car), but also with the process part. The future of the automotive industry is mainly focused on Industry 4.0 and, therefore, projects related to digital transformation and all the trends of the Factory of the Future are supported, which are key for the industry.

Last Friday the registration period for this new edition was closed and from now on the evaluation process begins. At the end of November, the selected projects will be known, which will start their journey at the BFA in mid-December.

Waiting to start a new edition, since its launch, the BFA has created more than 50 new companies, has generated more than 350 highly qualified jobs and a turnover of more than 70 million euros. This vertical accelerator develops a community around the automotive industry in which new opportunities for innovation are identified.
