Against a backdrop of the shift towards sustainable mobility and the consolidation of advanced industry, Galicia’s Automotive and Mobility Sector closed the 2025 financial year with a turnover of €13.3 billion, representing a 5% increase on the previous year. This figure accounts for 15.5% of Galicia’s GDP.

Exports from the sector, which totalled €9.125 billion, grew by 2.5% compared with 2024, accounting for 29.5% of Galicia’s total exports.

Overseas sales in the components sector reached €1.965 billion, consolidating the role of the supply industry as one of the main drivers of internationalisation. The main export destinations were France, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Algeria, Chile and Morocco.

In terms of employment, the automotive and mobility industry saw its workforce grow by 1.6%, reaching 23,900 direct jobs by the end of the year. This figure accounts for 12% of industrial employment in Galicia.

In terms of investment, companies in the sector allocated €179 million in 2025, representing an increase of around 7.2% compared with the previous year, reflecting their commitment to innovation and adapting to new technological challenges. Added to this is R&D&I expenditure of €112 million.

Once again, the Galician automotive industry has strengthened its leadership position at national level, accounting for 24.6% of vehicle production in Spain, thereby consolidating Galicia’s status as one of the sector’s main industrial hubs in Europe.
