CEAGA Foundation is accompanying the Galician Government on its institutional trip to Colombia, organized by Pexga in Colombia, with the objective of promoting the international expansion of Galician automotive companies and open possible areas of collaboration.

In the context of this institutional journey, a meeting with Colombian entrepreneurs and leaders from the main productive sectors took place last February 17th in Bogota. The Galician delegation was represented by, among others, the President of the Galician Government, Alberto Núñez Feijóo; the Regional Minister of Economy and Industry, Francisco Conde; and representatives from three Galician clusters: the automotive (CEAGA), TIC and food (Clusaga) ones, which presented their collaboration model in the frame of the clusters policy promoted by Igape.

During his speech, CEAGA’s President, José Luciano Martínez Covelo, explained the cooperative model of the Galician automotive sector, standing out the strengths of the components industry and the importance of the Sector value chain.

CEAGA’s President highlighted that the first link between the Galician automotive industry and the Colombian one is the company Valver, member of the Cluster, which has just created a society in Colombia to supply Renault. It was last February 13th when they signed the deed of incorporation of this new society, which has already hired 10 people currently on training.

In his intervention, Martinez Covelo identified a great opportunity for collaboration between the two countries, which became real with the signature of a cooperation agreement between the CEAGA Foundation and the Colombian Association of Auto Parts Manufacturers (ACOLFA), in order to identify opportunities to complete the Colombian automotive value chain with the know-how of Galician companies.
