CEAGA and FACYL, the Automotive Cluster of Castilla y León, have presented this Friday at the fourteenth edition of the Forum of Excellence 4.0 two new success stories in innovation in traceability and sustainability. On this occasion, the companies that have shown their progress have been Nissan and Plastic Omnium.

Nissan, through Jesús Toquero, Manager of Production Engineering, Maintenance and Business Development, has presented in this session the work that has been carried out in the company to improve the traceability systems for welding defects in the production line in hhn motor support series.

For its part, Plastic Omnium Redondela, led by Eduardo Villanueva, Plant Director, and Alejandro Outeiral, Head of HSE, have explained the initiatives within “Act For All” program related to sustainability and their strategy to achieve Carbon neutrality in the year 2050, in line with the agreements reached in Paris 2015 during the United Nations Conference on Climate Change.

These initiatives clearly show Plastic Omnium’s work over the years to achieve sustainability in its processes with practical and successful examples of reducing its energy consumption, minimizing its environmental impacts and the commitment and involvement of all its workers.

The “Forum of Excellence 4.0 of automotive clusters” started within the framework of a collaborative project promoted by eight automotive clusters (AEI la Rioja, ACAN, AVIA, CAAR, CIAC, CEAGA, GIRA and FACYL). The objective is to turn this forum into the best interregional scenario in which to transfer and learn about success stories of digitization projects implemented in different industrial factories in the sector.
