CEAGA is participating, alongside entities from the national technological and industrial ecosystem, in an industrial research project focused on promoting the effective implementation of In-Mold Electronics (IME) technology in the automotive sector. The initiative is being developed within the framework of the AEIs 2025 support program, promoted by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism.
REACT-IME aims to develop and validate a new manufacturing approach that integrates embedded electronics into molding processes in a more efficient, automated, and scalable way, facilitating its industrial adoption and contributing to the design of lighter, more functional, and sustainable vehicles.
To this end, the project will combine In-Mold Decorating (IMD) and printed electronics to eliminate assembly stages and simplify system architecture. Planned actions include the design and validation of new multifunctional components, the optimization of the weight of certain systems, the reduction of wiring through printed conductive materials, and the automation of the incorporation of flexible electronics in production environments.
This project will contribute to improving the competitiveness of the participating SMEs and facilitating the adoption of IME technology by Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers in Spain, reinforcing the sector’s position as a benchmark in technological innovation and advanced manufacturing.
The project will be developed under file number AEI-010500-2025-165 with a total budget of €215,707.00 and a grant of €154,033.00. It involves the participation of Functional Print Cluster, Industrias Alegre, Valver, Nufesa, and AIMPLAS, and falls within the scope of digital technologies applied to the automotive industry.
